Living the Dream - The Lake Chutes

In Colorado there is a special terrain designation of EX which stands for extreme terrain. It is more difficult than an double black diamond. A run is considered EX when it has a pitch greater than 50 degrees or cliffs taller than 20 feet. The Lake Chutes is the only run at Breckenridge with a designation of EX. Today I hiked the Lake Chutes and skied down. It was pretty steep, and I was a little scared at the top before I dropped in. There were only two other ski tracks visible in the chute. The top section was a little tough, but the entire run was awesome. It was fun skiing so much untracked powder. My tracks are the ones on the right side.
